Four heritage journeys, all private

Four set itineraries, from six days at Angkor to fifteen days across three countries. Each one is a starting point: we change days, hotels and pace to suit you, and quote the result.

“Early starts” counts the mornings where the plan has you leaving the hotel before 07:00. They are there for a reason, usually to reach a site in its first hour, and each one can be moved later if you would rather trade the quiet for sleep. We will tell you what the trade costs at that site.

Which one fits

15 days

UNESCO Indochina

For a first visit to the region with two weeks to give. Eight inscribed sites in three countries, with three internal flights and one overnight on Ha Long Bay. The cost of breadth: two or three nights in most places, so nothing gets the depth of the shorter trips.

7 days

Imperial Hue, Hoi An and My Son

For travellers who want central Vietnam properly: three nights in Hue for the citadel and the tombs, three in Hoi An with My Son at opening time. Works on its own or as the first week of a longer trip.

6 days

Angkor in depth and Sambor Prei Kuk

Five nights in Siem Reap, which is what Angkor needs if you want more than the three famous temples. Includes the pre-Angkorian brick temples of Sambor Prei Kuk, a long day by road.

8 days

Luang Prabang, Plain of Jars and Vat Phou

The three Lao listings in one journey. Slow in Luang Prabang, a long road day to the jar sites, a flight south to Champasak. For travellers who have seen Angkor and want what came before and around it.

What every itinerary includes

  • Private vehicle and driver for every road transfer and site day
  • A guide for every site day, chosen for that site where specialists exist
  • Site tickets for the visits named in the itinerary
  • Hotels at the level you choose, named in the quote before you pay
  • A written site plan for each day with opening hours and the time we aim to arrive

International flights, visas, travel insurance, most dinners and tips are outside the price. The prices page explains why, and lists the third-party costs we have sourced.

Changing an itinerary

Treat each itinerary as a draft. The common changes are adding a night where a place deserves it (Hue and Luang Prabang are the usual candidates), cutting Ha Long Bay to make room for Phong Nha, or joining two itineraries together. A few changes we will argue against: compressing Angkor into two days, visiting My Son at midday in April, or crossing from Hue to Siem Reap and on to Luang Prabang in fewer than eleven days.

If none of the four fits, describe what you want on the form. We build fully custom heritage routes too, and the heritage table is a good place to start choosing sites.

Common questions

Questions travellers ask most

Can a single traveller book these journeys?

Yes. The price per person is higher because the vehicle and guide are not shared, but every itinerary runs for one person as readily as for six.

What is the largest party you take?

One private party, typically up to eight people in one vehicle. Larger families can be handled with two vehicles and two guides; tell us the numbers early.

Do the itineraries run all year?

They can, but not equally well. Central Vietnam floods in October and November, and Cambodia is at its hottest from March to May. Each tour page says which months we would avoid.

Can we start on any date?

Yes, subject to hotel and flight availability. For the December to February season, booking several months ahead gives the widest choice of hotels.
